Sunday, May 24th 2015 Memorial Day Weekend

Good day world.  My daily blog it appears to be bi-weekly and I need to change that.  The days go by rather quickly around here.  It seems that the older I get, the days go quicker.  My time here at Fort Lyon, I hope is for the best.  It is a time in my life that I need to recover not just from alcohol and drugs, but mainly from life itself.  Where will I journey on from here?  Will my time here be wasted or beneficial? Whatever the case, I must take her one day at a time and do the best I can that one day at a time.

We have over 200 people here now from the usual 175 or so.  They have a strict budget, but yet the Coalition brings in more.  I understand too that they must keep this facility full the keep the budget going.  Their fiscal year starts in July and their budget right now is tight.  I got my own room here a few weeks back and have a wonderful view of Fort Lyon right out my window.  My room is rather small, but comfortable enough for me.  I love windows and I love to have it about 1/4 open to bring in fresh air.  I have yet to turn on the air conditioner.  We are having a long Spring it appears.  I was up the other morning and it was 37 degrees.  Did I close the window?  Nope, I slept with it open with a roommate this winter when it got below zero.  This room however, you can definitely feel the outside air.  My window is rather large which I like very much.  Having a room to yourself has its advantages, but then it has some downfalls as well.  I tend to hide myself in here.  I don't talk much or associate with many people.  I do communicate with a smile when I see them and wish them well, but that is about all.  Ben my friend that came with me didn't make his one year.  He decided to get drunk here and leave.  Didn't even say goodbye.  He was my last "buddy" here.  We use to eat lunch and dinner together and now I eat lunch by myself.  What is loneliness?    I am very seldom every lonely.  I know I have God beside me.  My socialization pretty much is with Facebook and twitter and some other ones.  I have music, but I don;'t play it.  Why?  Music tends to distract me.  I love music and I love tv, but I don't do either. I love taking pictures, and I have done that much either either.

We have been receiving lots and lots of rain.  We here in Eastern Southern Colorado are suppose to be in a drought,  The weather guessers seem to be wrong most of the time.  They predicted yesterday only a 10 percent of rain.  We got lots of rain last night and the night before.  No matter though.  I love the rain.  I was woke up last night to a tremendous thunder storm.  The rain was coming in through my window and I looked up and all I could see was lightening.  It was quite a show and lasted about 30 minutes and then she was gone.  My sleeping habits are out of whack.  The night before I did a all nighter again... and went to bed yesterday at 1400.  I just got up at 1130.  I sleep lots when I do go to bed.  I wake up quite a few times, but mainly to use the restroom and go back to sleep,  I'm just snug as a bug in a rug and with the weather being the way it has been, it is not hard to keep in bed.  I don't even get up for a cigarette.  Once I am horizontal, I don't smoke a cig until I get up.  Strange huh ?

I still continue to get my inspiration from facebook and I continue to share those photo's through my other pages.  I post almost all my favorites on inspiration (secret) group and I recently opened up my again "inspiration" (public) group.  I have my timeline and I have 2 other pages that I use to share as well.  I have "life"..  and "a sunrise" that I share with too... I have my personal page.. rickysaint100 that I share too, but not very often.  I have "Save Darfur" still and rarely share anything as it is not public.  I don't get much exposure on the other pages.  My secret inspiration group has over 2000 members, but then I put them there or invited them and they are still there.  I have over 4600 friends now... 5000 is the limit.  I just posted 4 photos from facebook on my rickystjohn.blogspot.com blogger page just before lunch.  I have it where when the picture posts it tweets, then goes to Wordpress and then to Facebook "a sunrsie" page and uploads that picture to "a sunrise" timeline.  It creates a series of pictures in one post that I often share.  When one click of the picture it goes to my Wordpress page.... but I prefer it to go to my blogger page.  The pictures can be bigger.  I didn't realize it either until just the other day... Everything I share on facebook on my timeline is shared via twitter.  So... I am well connected to the world ! <3 p="">

Tomorrow is Memorial Day and they plan on having a picnic.  Right now the bugs are not too bad, but I hear this place gets very bad in the summer.  We are basically in the middle of a swamp.  John Martin Reservoir is just a few smiles from us and the Las Animas River just a walk away from here and it is full to the maximum.  Thank goodness we have a dyke or otherwise we would be flooded. Yesteday, they forcasted that today we had only a 10 percent chain of rain and now it has grown to 40 percent.  Should of been a weatherman.  90 percent wrong and still have a job the next day... :)

Well, I think I did my 30 minute therapy is writing today and I need to get back to that.  For some reason, I always feel better after a 30 minute writing session.  Now I look forward to least 2 hours of inspiration therapy that I share with.  My goal is to make someone smile today.... :)

  2. Hey – great blog, just looking around some blogs, seems a really nice platform you are using. I’m currently using WordPress for a few of my blogs but looking to change one of them over to a platform similar to yours as a trial run. Anything in particular you would recommend about it?
